C2 provided design services to plan, program, and design a fit-up of a 14,923 SF of the ground floor within the existing, historic Wedgeway Building located at 271 State Street in downtown Schenectady, NY.
The retail space will serve as the future home of the Electric City Community Grocery. The store is expected to create between 20-30 full-time jobs and will bring fresh food and groceries to an area of the city that hasn’t had a grocery store for the past 25 years.
Historic interior design elements that were preserved include the palazzo floor, tin ceiling and plaster caricatures atop pillars.
