C2 was contacted by Mohawk Ambulance Service to discuss the design of a new facility that would allow them to serve a new community. Together with the client, C2 designed a new, 6,000 square foot facility that is located on McChesney Avenue in Brunswick, New York. This location consolidated two older locations, on Brick Church Road and River Street in Troy. The site was selected to position Mohawk Ambulance in a more central location to respond to emergency calls in rural towns outside of Troy.
Programming was an important part of the planning process. C2 held meetings with project stakeholders to learn about the existing and future needs of a 21st-century emergency response team.
The center includes four, drive-thru ambulance bays, allowing for up to eight ambulances to be stationed at the facility. Having additional space in the vehicle bays affords crew members room to clean and decontaminate gear. This has been extremely valuable throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

When working with the C2 team, I knew that they cared about getting the project done right. They really listened to our needs and delivered a design that met them. C2 was a great resource for us. They answered all of our questions and guided us through each step. I would absolutely work with them again. They were sensitive to our budget and shared cost-conscious solutions.
Upgrades also included state-of-the-art equipment in the administrative area and spacious quarters for staff between calls. Living areas include a modern kitchenette, a lounge, and 3 bunk rooms for overnight and 24-hour staff.
